Embracing Change: The Courage of the Caterpillar's Metamorphosis

We've all heard the story of a butterflies transformation. It starts out for the Caterpillar gobbling up as many resources as possible to sustain itself for the journey to come.

The Caterpillar decides to cocoon itself, spinning a protective shell. I wonder does it truly understand the journey to come, the perils it will face, the cost of change.

It then undergoes a metamorphosis process, the form that has sustained it thus far turns to mush. I wonder how much faith it takes to step out of what's known. The new form develops and grows as it goes through the transformation process, new wings grow, new structures develop. I wonder how much trust it takes to lean in see the opportunities that accompany this change.

Once developed these new wings will be strengthened as it stretches out breaking through the shell that's been protecting  it on this transformational journey. I wonder how much courage it must take to test this new capability, to embrace this new form.

It is now free, free to explore the world from a more complex and wider perspective. More capable of seeing and experiencing the beauty in the world, a world full of opportunity.
